Position Summary:
We are on the hunt for a Content Strategist who doesn't just work with content, but lives and breathes it. This is more than a job; it's a passion. You'll be the heart and soul of our storytelling, turning ideas into impactful narratives that captivate and engage. This role requires exceptional storytelling skills, a deep understanding of various content formats and channels, and a strategic mindset to align content initiatives with overall marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that supports GEx's marketing goals and objectives. This includes identifying target audiences, conducting content audits, defining content themes and pillars, and creating a content calendar.
- Content Creation: Produce engaging and compelling content across various formats, including blog articles, social media posts, email newsletters, website copy, case studies, whitepapers, video scripts, and more. Ensure content is optimized for search engines (SEO) and tailored to specific audience segments.
- VisitorSys Ownership: Take ownership of VisitorSys, our international digital attendance management solution. Ensure its success and effective promotion among event organizers. Develop persuasive content that highlights its features, benefits, and value proposition.
- Storytelling: Act as the chief storyteller for GEx, crafting narratives that effectively communicate our brand message, value proposition, and industry expertise. Develop captivating stories that resonate with target audiences and differentiate GEx from competitors.
- Channel Management: Determine the most effective distribution channels for content, including our website, blog, social media platforms, email marketing, industry publications, and more. Optimize content for each channel to maximize reach and engagement.
- Content Promotion: Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to develop promotion strategies for content, leveraging social media advertising, influencer partnerships, email campaigns, and other tactics to increase content visibility and drive traffic.
- Content Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze the performance of content initiatives using analytics tools and provide insights to optimize future content strategies. Measure key metrics such as website traffic, engagement, lead generation, and conversion rates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Design, Sales, and Event Operations, to gather input and insights for content creation. Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as exhibitors and industry experts, to incorporate their perspectives into content development.
- Industry Trends: Stay up to date with industry trends, market insights, and emerging technologies related to content marketing. Identify new opportunities to leverage innovative content formats and distribution channels.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Content Strategist, Social Media Manager, or similar role.
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills, with a strong command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficiency in developing content for various formats and channels, including web, social media, email, video, and more.
- Basic proficiency in graphic design and multimedia editing software (Canva, Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro etc).
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging, informative, and persuasive content that drives results.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML knowledge.
- Experience with SEO best practices and keyword research.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive content decisions and measure performance.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with podcasting and/or thought leadership is a plus.
